Installing Android POS

The Scantranx Android POS app allows retailers to manage sales, inventory, and payments directly from an Android tablet or mobile device. Follow the steps below to install the app and get started.

System Requirements

Before installation, ensure your device meets the following requirements:

  • Operating System: Android 7.0 (Nougat) or higher

  • RAM: Minimum 2 GB (recommended 4 GB or more)

  • Storage: At least 500 MB of free space

  • Internet Connection: Wi-Fi or mobile data (required for activation and cloud sync)

  • Optional Accessories: Bluetooth or Wi-Fi receipt printer, barcode scanner, and cash drawer.

Download and Install the App

  1. Open the Google Play Store on your Android device.

  2. In the search bar, type “Scantranx POS”.

  3. Tap Install to download the app.

  4. Once installation is complete, tap Open to launch the app.

  5. The Scantranx splash screen will appear briefly before loading the configuration setup page.

Granting Permissions

When you launch the app for the first time, it will request access to:

  • Storage: To save sales and product data locally.

  • Bluetooth or Network: For printer and device connectivity.

  • Camera (Optional): For scanning product barcodes using the device camera.

Tap Allow on all permission requests to ensure full functionality.


First-Time Launch

  1. After permissions are granted, the app opens the Configuration screen.

  2. Enter your StoreAccount IDName and Authorization code as provided by your admin or manager.

  3. Tap Save to complete setup.

  4. You are now ready to log in and begin using the POS.
