Installing Windows POS

Requirements

  • OS: Windows 10 or later (64-bit)

  • User rights: Windows user with permission to install software

  • Internet: Stable connection for activation & sync (works offline after)

  • Peripherals (optional):

    • USB/Ethernet receipt printer (ESC/POS compatible)

    • Cash drawer (connected to printer)

    • Barcode scanner (HID/keyboard mode recommended)

    • Label printer (if you print barcodes)

    • Card reader (if using integrated payments)

Tip: Plug in and power on all peripherals before first POS launch to speed up discovery.


Download the Installer

  1. Open Scantranx Back Office → Downloads.

  2. Click Windows POS Installer to download the Scantranx-setup.exe.

Note: Always use the latest installer for best compatibility.


Install the POS App

  1. Locate the downloaded .exe and double-click to run it.

  2. If Windows SmartScreen appears, choose More info → Run anyway (publisher: Scantranx).

  3. Accept the License Agreement and click Next.

  4. Choose the Install location (default is fine) → Install.

  5. When finished, select Launch Scantranx POSFinish.
